Today, the European Commission announced new rules to facilitate the approval of micro-organisms for use as active substances in plant protection products.
Reacting to the news, CropLife Europe’s Senior Communications Manager Anika Gatt Seretny said, “This is definitely a step in the right direction to have more innovative biopesticides on the market. In order to reach EU Farm to Fork objectives, we believe it is also essential that EU Regulation 1107 fosters timely approvals for all solutions, be it biopesticides or pesticides, so that farmers have a full toolbox of effective products available“.
