We are providing access to training on new technologies and responsible use of sustainable crop protection solutions.

Our industry recognises our responsibility to train farmers, advisors, and multipliers on how to best manage crops with minimal impact on the environment and maximum level of protection for their crops.

We have put in place a variety of training programmes that will better protect farmers, the communities in which they produce, and the consumer.

IN THE AREA OF PROTECTING PEOPLE & THE ENVIRONMENT BY 2030, EU PESTICIDES AND BIOPESTICIDES MANUFACTURERS COMMIT TO:

Train 1 million farmers, advisors and multipliers on best practice for the implementation of Integrated Pest Management, operator safety, and water and environment protection.

Make technologies such as Closed Transfer Systems (CTS) available to 100% of European farmers and operators.

In 2021, our industry achieved the following results

Our industry trained 112,193 farmers, advisors, and multipliers.

EU pesticides and biopesticides manufacturers are committed to protecting people and the environment.

We are supporting farmers in the uptake of new technologies.

For example, our industry is investing in the distribution of Closed Transfer Systems (CTS), and we are committed to making them available to 100% of European farmers by 2030.

By reducing the risk of splashing and spilling, CTS significantly reduce the operator’s exposure to crop protection products and also reduce any potential environmental harm. CTS allow the product to be directly transferred from their original container to the spray tank. They also give accurate measurements of the volume of the product being transferred.

Furthermore, we are committed to supporting farmers through training and knowledge sharing.

Our commitment to train 1 million farmers, advisors, and multipliers by 2030 on best practices for the implementation of Integrated Pest Management, operator safety, as well as water and environment protection will minimise exposure and risk to farmers while helping secure a resilient and sustainable future for agriculture.

That is our commitment to protecting people and the environment.

STRAIGHT FROM THE FIELD
To remind farmers and operators about the importance of safe use of pesticides and biopesticides, our industry frequently holds trainings across Europe. Correct practices not only protect farmers’ and operators’ health, but they help to protect the environment as well.
