This joint letter cosigned by IBMA, COPA-COGECA and ELO focuses on getting the biocontrol definition right matters because it will determine whether European farmers can access the full range of safe and effective alternatives they need. A broad, science-based and future-proof definition can support innovation, strengthen integrated pest management and help farmers respond to mounting pest, climate and resistance pressures without lowering EU safety standards.
