This infographic presents data from a survey. In recent years, the European Commission has made significant efforts to clarify the regulatory
requirements for biopesticide technologies, such as micro-organisms and semiochemicals.
However, a broad class of biopesticides, namely biochemicals, lack specific data requirements
and guidance documents. CropLife Europe believes this lack of clarity is a major barrier
preventing companies from submitting more biochemical products for approval in the
European Union (EU). This notion is supported by the higher number of approved
biochemicals in non-EU regions where specific requirements exist.
