On the 5th of July European Commission has released its’ proposal on plants obtained by certain new genomic techniques. CropLife Europe response to the new proposal:
New Genomic Techniques (NGTs) will contribute to the objectives of the EU Green Deal and Farm to Fork provided the EU urgently adopts a specific science-based regulatory framework.
Such regulatory framework will encourage R&D investments and thus allow farmers to choose between different plant breeding techniques in the transition towards a more sustainable and resilient agriculture.
