The General Assembly of CropLife Europe appointed Alexandra Brand as the new Chair of its Board of Directors.
When voted Alexandra Brand commented: “The next decade is going to be pivotal in creating and determining better ways of producing food. Changing a farm’s management is a high economic risk farmers cannot take on their own. They need the collective support of the scientific community, industry, consumers, and policy makers to drive this change. This requires leadership, collaboration, and innovation. Our sector is part of this equation and ready to play its part. This is why I am so proud to be elected as the new Chair of the CropLife Europe Board.“
Alexandra has been involved in CropLife Europe’s work since 2016. She currently leads one of Syngenta Group’s largest businesses as the Crop Protection Regional Director for Europe, Africa and the Middle East. From 2018 – 2020, Alexandra Brand was Chief Sustainability Officer of the Syngenta Group where she led the newly created Business Sustainability Group to drive forward the company’s sustainability agenda.
“I am delighted to have Alexandra as our new Chair. We will all benefit from her leadership and vision. Also, I would like to express our sincere gratitude to Livio Tedeschi, our outgoing Chair, for his commitment and guidance through the transformation of the CropLife Europe mandate. – Olivier de Matos, CropLife Europe’s Director General concluded.
