CropLife Europe strengthens Regulatory Affairs team

CropLife Europe welcomes Corrado Finardi as its new Regulatory Affairs Director.

Corrado brings a wealth of experience and expertise to our team, with more than 20 years in regulatory affairs and consultancy on agrifood topics. Corrado holds a Ph.D. in Agri-food Economics and a master’s in organisational studies. He joins  from COCERAL (the European association, representing the trade in cereals, rice, feedstuffs, oilseeds, olive oil, oils and fats and agro supply) where he served as Director of Agri-policies. In that role, he focused on key agricultural topics such as the Farm to Fork Strategy, the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), and related areas including plant protection products, fertilisers, and plant biotechnology.

Corrado’s expertise spans food safety, nutrition, and the intersection of science, economics, and law. Prior to his role at COCERAL, he worked for 15 years advocating for farmers at local, national, and European levels in Italy, his home country. He also spent many years serving as a consultant on regulatory aspects of innovative food products, contributing to papers in peer-reviewed journals in economics and food law as well as food business magazines.

This is what he had to say on his first day:

“The past years have demonstrated the importance of resilient, adaptable food and agriculture systems in the face of climate change, pest pressure, trade disruptions, and geopolitical instability. How do we create a stable environment for crop production and ensure food availability?

Whatever the solutions will be, they cannot escape considering and future-proofing our regulatory frameworks in order to provide the farmers with the tools they need. Its about having access to a full toolbox of solutions.

As we navigate these challenges, I look forward to collaborating with our public and private partners and leveraging the power of innovation to safeguard human health and the environment. Together, let’s shape a secure and sustainable future for European agri-food systems.”

The CropLife Europe team is looking forward to benefiting from Corrado’s extensive knowledge and leadership in regulatory affairs.
